GuildWiki lists Peppermint Canes as not included in Wintersday 2007 because the previous method of obtaining them was removed. However, it appears that A-net decided to modify the 2007 wintersday gifts that you can get from the Candy Cane Shard collector in Kamadan. You now have a small chance to get Peppermint canes from him instead. I opened 35 presents and got 2 Peppermints.

Just thought you guys in riverside would like to know...

peppermint candy canes were available from the wintersday gifts last year as well and they were also found in the winter gifts (the ones u hand out to scrappy jhim before the grentches catch u and blow em up)

On that topic..where are those grentchies this year?...haven't seen them yet

They were all banned by Anet...unfortunately, they can't type to send in a support ticket !

From their update section:

"Over the coming days, holiday activities will begin as special guests arrive to join the festivities. Everything leads up to the big Wintersday celebration on January 1..."

(and I noticed that the presents from the wintersday guy gives you 2 of the eggnogs, spiked eggnogs, snowman thingys....dont remember getting 2 of each before! or maybe it was just me???)

The Dwayna biased lair of the Snowmen is a pretty efficient way to farm shards, I just get to the end and stay out of the way and they drop like... erm candy. I leave the fighting to the snowmen as they respawn pretty quickly.

I don't recall if the gift giver gave two either. I was quite surprised when I got two wintergreen canes off him, it gave me a reason to keep farming the above quest. The other repeatable I found annoying as the grentches stay too behind you and you have to run in and aggro the snowmen just to get them to do anything, then try and leg it back behind the grentches before you die.

I think you could get two from last years ones, don't hold me to that though

Talk to the Rift Warden and take the 4th quest, it's a solo run through the lair of the snowmen(not fighting the snowmen this time) with snowball fight skills.

Just run past the grentchies all the way to Freezie, and let them do all the work at the end. Freezie will rez if he dies, as well as the rest of the snowmen.

A11Eur0 is right, it's the fourth quest in the list, and it's repeatable.

Yeah, ok thanks.

Edit: Is it just me or is this quest hard? I can't beat it, there are more grenchies than snowmen, the other repeatable quest,(3rd one) for Grenth is a little easier but still hard.

yeah I finished it on my 2nd attempt with my first character today...got 60 shards....and then a bunch of stuff at the end including the hard to get peppermint candy cane! woot!! (got 2 more from the wintersday gifts I traded the shards for----yippee!!)

grenchies are always idling while snowmen are only aiming/spiking at you
